My desire is to help you find your voice in the world. Wake up in the morning and jump out of bed excited for another day. I have felt and lived your emotions. You feel like a puppet with strings. Abusive relationships feel impossible to leave. Looking back, I stayed because of low self esteem.
Being a Christian, emotional abuse was never discussed in church.When I got the courage to confide in certain church people, they told me to pray harder. 'He just does not seem that way' or 'everyone has problems, you are the perfect couple'. Does any of that sound familiar?
I convinced myself that something was wrong with me. I needed to suck it up and find the energy to do more. Sure,leaving the relationship was difficult, but I learned to know God's Power. God loves you. I had to decide that I was worthy of the abundant life that God promised. Before God could bless me with my desires, I had to be willing to let go of the abusive relationship. No matter what your abuser tells you, know that you are a beautiful daughter of God.
" Will you allow me to take this journey with you? I will believe in you until you believe in yourself. Aren't you tired of being tired? This is your time to break free. Abuse will no longer hold you hostage."
